At Petit Palais Poodles, our dogs are family first. Every dog receives the individual attention, love, and family life they deserve. We intentionally keep only two dogs in our own home: Louvre and Lupin.
At the same time, we are committed to continuously improving our breeding program by introducing exceptional bloodlines and future breeding prospects. Our Guardian Home Program allows us to achieve both goals in a responsible and ethical way.
Our Guardian Home Program is based on a clear and transparent agreement between Petit Palais Poodles and each guardian family. Before welcoming a dog into your home, we will go through the contract together so that expectations, responsibilities, and arrangements are clear from the beginning. Below is a brief overview of what we ask from our guardian families.
Guardian families should live within a reasonable distance of Petit Palais Poodles or in another location agreed upon together. You must be willing and able to bring the dog to us when needed for health testing, breeding-related appointments, mating and whelping.
Before placing one of our dogs in a guardian home, we take the time to get to know the family. This includes, personal conversations, references and a home visit, either in person or virtually.
Guardian Families are responsible for providing appropriate training and socialisation. This includes house training, comfortable leash walking, basic obedience and positive exposure to different people, dogs, environments and everyday situations.
The guardian family is responsible for all routine costs associated with owning a dog, including vaccinations, parasite prevention and general veterinary care. Petit Palais Poodles covers all agreed health testing and breeding-related veterinary expenses while the dog is part of our breeding program.
A successful guardian home relationship depends on open communication and mutual trust. We ask guardian families to keep us updated, communicate any health or behavioural concerns and cooperate with us when appointments, health testing or breeding-related plans need to be arranged.
Our Guardian Home Program is built on trust, communication and a shared love for our dogs. As a guardian family, you become an important part of the Petit Palais family and our future breeding program.
Above all, our guardian dogs are beloved family members first and breeding dogs second. Our greatest priority is that they grow up in a safe, loving home where they are cherished throughout their entire lives.
